*FREE* Money Counts Training for Cornwall: a cash first approach to food insecurity
Do you work with people who struggle financially or feel financially insecure? Our training aims to equip frontline staff and volunteers with the skills and knowledge to signpost individuals to free personal support in Cornwall.
This online training session is specifically designed for frontline staff and volunteers who may have brief conversations with people about their money worries or financial struggles as part of their work.
After the one-hour session you will:
- Be fully aware of the local financial advice and cash first support options currently available in Cornwall.
- Feel confident about using the Cornwall 'Worrying About Money?' leaflet to ask people about wider money worries and guide them to appropriate support.
- Understand more about the importance of a 'cash first' approach to growing food insecurity and poverty.
(Please note, this session will likely be unsuitable for people who have had substantial training on or experience with approaching conversations about money worries.)
This training session will be led by Abby Preston of the Independent Food Aid Network (IFAN) with contributions from the Trussell Trust and Cornwall Citizens Advice Cornwall.
