As it becomes increasingly difficult for single people to find available and genuinely affordable accommodation in Cornwall, we are promoting the Supportmatch Homeshare initiative. This innovative service has been designed to match people with a spare room to let with single individuals looking for housing.
The service is brought through a partnership between Cornwall Council and Supportmatch. It offers a remarkable opportunity to create helpful and meaningful connections for people who feel isolated.
Did you know that in Cornwall, we currently have a number of homeowners who have spare rooms available?
The service is particularly relevant for single people, looking for accommodation, who enjoy or have experience of caring for others. That said, no previous caring experience is necessary: all it takes is a willingness to offer some free time to provide companionship, go on walks, and assist with everyday household tasks such as shopping, cooking, and cleaning.
