Transformation Cornwall's annual funding event empowers social action groups across Cornwall
Over one hundred individuals gathered for the Meet the Funders Spring event at St Martin’s Church in Liskeard on Thursday, April 25th. Hosted by Transformation Cornwall and the Diocese of Truro, the event facilitated connections between over 80 organisations from the voluntary, faith-based, and social action sectors with 14 local and national funding bodies.
Key speakers from The National Lottery Community Fund, National Churches Trust, Resonance, The Joseph Rank Trust, Feast, The Benefact Trust, The Co-op Foundation, Cornwall Community Foundation, The Duchy Health Charity and The National Lottery Heritage Fund shared valuable insights and funding opportunities.
Representatives from Cornwall Women’s Fund, CIOS Shared Prosperity Fund, Carew Pole Charitable Trust and Asda Foundation were also present to engage with delegates.
Charlotte Butler, Operations Director at Transformation Cornwall, said: “We were thrilled to see numerous grassroots organisations and faith-based community groups attend and find the day incredibly valuable. Our Meet The funder event is the tip of the iceberg and the more visible work we do with organisations across Cornwall. Our mission at Transformation Cornwall is to empower these groups and enhance their capacity to serve communities and address deprivation. As a team we now look forward to pursuing the conversations behind the scenes and bringing our expertise to help them turn their ideas and projects into reality.”
The success of Meet the Funders Spring was made possible through generous support from the National Lottery Community Fund, The Benefact Trust, and Cornwall Community Foundation (CCF).
Tamas Haydu, Chief Executive of CCF said: “Thank you for organising this important event; it is much appreciated.”
Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with respondents expressing motivation and inspiration to pursue their projects. The survey conducted at the end of the day revealed a significant increase in knowledge about funding opportunities, with 97% of respondents indicating their intention to apply for funding following the event.
Due to high demand, the free places for the Spring 2024 edition were sold out two weeks prior to the event. However, Transformation Cornwall partnered with CHAOS Digital to record presentations from the speakers, which will be available on this website in early May.
