Celebrating World Mental Health at the Cornwall Voluntary Sector Forum and NHS Event.
On World Mental Health Day, we had the pleasure of attending the Cornwall Voluntary Sector and NHS showcase event at the Wadebridge Royal Cornwall Showground.
This well-organised and inspiring gathering allowed us to discover more local health and wellbeing initiatives, meet new faces, and reconnect with valued partners. It was a fantastic opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the dedicated individuals who tirelessly support people in our community.
The day was filled with engaging taster workshops, ranging from floristry and circus skills to percussion. Alongside informative talks and presentations, the event provided a wonderful chance for staff to make a side step for the day and enjoy some well-being activities, fun, and meaningful connections.
Throughout the day, we were thrilled to engage with numerous social prescribers, social workers and NHS staff, learning more about their vital work and how we can support them. The feedback we received about our signposting telephone booklet and poster was overwhelmingly positive, and we were excited to see them become one of our most popular resources - so much so that we ran out of copies by the end of the day! We also took the opportunity to raise awareness about our “Worrying About Money?” leaflet, which aims to assist financially vulnerable individuals.
Overall it was an uplifting event and we're grateful to the organisers, the Cornwall Voluntary Sector forum and Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, for inviting us.
